New Phone Link To Be Energized In Lamesa Area
A wireless long distance telephone link will be activated next year in Lamesa, O'Donnell, and Tahoka using steel towers and parabolic antennas. The system will beam microwave signals through the air with repeaters to reach Hobbs, New Mexico, and then connect to the Bell Telephone system in Lubbock. Engineers say up to 600 toll calls can be handled per minute.

Tech records 4675 summer enrollment at Texas Tech
