Cheryl Crane Runaway Found After Night Escape
Lana Turner’s 16 year old daughter Cheryl Crane ran away from a country home for girls on Friday night and was found in a Beverly Hills park restroom Saturday. She and two other runaways said they spent about eight hours joyriding with three unidentified young men who released them near Beverly Hills.

Rescued in Flooded North Avenue H Underpass
Miss Janelle Scott 19 her mother Mrs Lela Scott and two year old Daylene were saved by Lubbock police after their car stalled in rising waters of the North Avenue H underpass during a heavy Saturday rain. Mrs Scott and the children suffered no ill effects as many cars were stranded citywide.

Pioneer of City Dies in Lubbock at 94
Mrs. Mollie D. Abernathy known as Mollie D. died at her northeast Lubbock home after a brief illness. She lived on the South Plains 59 years, born April 27, 1867 in Hood County. She married James Jarrett 1886 then Monroe G. Abernathy in 1905 and helped develop West Texas ranching.
