Right to copies of school files outlined by HEW
Washington (UPI) HeW rules spell out access to student records. Students or parents may obtain copies within 45 days, but may face third party pressure on disclosure. Schools may still send report cards home and bill parents, with potential loss of federal aid for noncompliance. The rules retrofit to Nov 19 and cover public and many private schools receiving U.S. Education funds.
