Paraplegic rider crosses US for National Paraplegia Foundation

Paralyzed motorcyclist Bob Gill travels 8 000 miles across the United States on a Kawasaki 900 to raise funds for the National Paraplegia Foundation. He uses hand controls and aims to reach one million dollars. his trek began in St. Petersburg, Florida and ends in Los Angeles. Gill has already raised over half a million and continues to seek donations through the foundation at 333 North Michigan Ave, Chicago.

Wildcat coal walkout spreads to six states

Half the nation's coal miners were off the job as a wildcat strike spread from Appalachia to the Midwest. UMW President Arnold Miller reported unions in Indiana Virginia Kentucky Pennsylvania Ohio and Colorado joined the stoppage. He urged an end to the walkout.

Boston Church Offers Free Beer and X Film Sparks Arrests

In Back Bay Boston, Freedom Expression Church ran a nonprofit operation offering free beer and showed the X rated Deep Throat film to donors. Thousands View Olton Pageant Crowds At Pioneer History Show
