Burglars Take 5200 From Noble Residence Safe

Burglars entered the C. B. Noble home at 351% 48th St Sunday and left with a safe holding 237 one hundred dollar bonds 240 fifty dollar bonds and 176 twenty five dollar bonds plus more than 100 in cash. The safe weighed 75 to 90 pounds measured 24 by 18 inches and was secured with a kitchen door entry from an adjacent garage. Police continued the search Sunday with no suspects. A second theft at 3102 Erskine St saw trading stamps and a pistol stolen between 1 and 2 p.m. with a total value of 411 dollars.

Rainy conditions persist across South Plains with welcomed relief

Damp weather continues as Saturday thunderstorms bring measurable rainfall. A National Weather Service spokesman notes a potential to break a regional temperature record with a new high near 78. Rain chances stay present today with a 40 percent chance and 30 percent tonight. Dallas Riots End After Downtown Protest

In Dallas a march of about 2 000 and a 12 year old deputy involved sparked a three hour riot. Mexican Americans clashed with police as rocks and fire were used and looting occurred along Main Street near city hall and the police headquarters. Five officers were injured from smoke and debris.

Police spokesman notes peaceful march turned violent at city hall

A Sunday march and assembly near city hall turned chaotic when a 39 year old back woman grabbed a microphone in an unmarked police car and shouted. Police arrested 39 people with charges to be filed today as a liquor store and warehouse were damaged and windows broken. See Dallas Page 10.

Cafeteria Robbery by Calm Gunman Shocks Town

A calm armed man robbed Farrs cafeteria at 4th Street and Boston Ave 100 around 1 p.m. Sunday taking more than $500 from registers and deposits. Prison Rebellion Ends as Inmates Evacuate Oklahoma Facility

Prison raid yields no resistance. warden shot in East Texas

Troopers moved into the prison at around 940 am and met no resistance. Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said two more inmates probably were killed by other inmates during the early hours. A 26 year old game warden was shot to death Sunday as police hunted a 26 year old suspect in a wooded area near East Texas.
