15-year-old Stanley Jones Dies in Lubbock County Motorcycle Crash
Stanley Bryan Jones of Lubbock Route 2 died at the scene after his motorcycle collided head on with a station wagon turning onto Farm Road 1729 near New Deal. Garner Hutcheson, 71, of Gary Avenue, drove the station wagon. Jones had only held a driver's license three weeks. The crash occurred about 6 p.m. and marked the 28th road death in Lubbock County for the year.

LP and L officials halted half the natural gas delivery to Aubhock Power and Light’s No generating station Monday as Pioneer Natural Gas Co faced peak demand from irrigation and other users.
