Firemen rescued 78 year old Mrs Evelyn Isbell from a blazing residence at 418 Ave C in Lubbock. Fire chief Art Holly said the fire began in the southeast part of the house and caused heavy damage plus extensive smoke damage. Isbell lived alone with a seeing eye dog and two pets. a granddaughter said her son lives in San Francisco. The blaze is under investigation with aid from the National Board of Fire Underwriters.
