Lubbock Man Ordered For Drug Rehabilitation Evaluation
U S District Judge Halbert Woodward ordered 28 year old James L Gerhardt to undergo 30 days of medical and psychiatric testing at South Plains Guidance Center to gauge rehabilitation potential under a federal narcotics treatment program He faces heroin possession charges and a separate count of receiving and concealing stolen property after a June 20 raid during which he pointed a pistol at an officer before dropping it The pistol and other stolen items were traced to a residence in Idalou and warrants total seven thousand five hundred dollars in bonds
