Texas Reaches One Hundred Thousand Producing Oil Wells
Texas now lists 100062 producing oil wells in the weekly well drilling report. Pro rationing limits output to about 1300000 barrels daily. The 100000th well was drilled in Hunt county near Greenville this week. Oil history notes 1543 discovery near Sabine Pass and later Spindletop and East Texas milestones.

One Desa Trains Crashes. Four Hurt and One Killed
A head on collision at Ruleton Kansas between a Rock Island freight and the Omaha Colorado Springs passenger train killed Duane Maier the freight head brake man aged 26 from Goodland. The passenger train was standing on the main line when struck pushing it 200 feet back. Locomotives damaged seven freight cars derailed. main line blocked five hours.
