Polish major flies plane to West Berlin to seek asylum

Coeds Escape Serious Injury In Rail Car Crash Near City Limits

Two Texas Tech coeds aged 19 escaped serious injury when their car was struck by a westbound Santa Fe freight train just outside Lubbock city limits. Driver Cheryle White and passenger Judy McElroy were admitted for observation at Methodist Hospital. The car was knocked 27 feet into a ditch after crossing Quaker Avenue near U S Highway 81.
