Probe Of Horse Meat Sales Not Concluded
Harris county grand jury gears for action as yesterday's indictments of 11 Houston meatpackers did not end the horse meat probe. District Attorney A C Winborn said more witnesses are needed about sulfite treated meat sold as beef. Ten true bills covered selling horse meat as beef. one charged dispensing doctored meat. Bonds totaled 36000 with Leon C Booker facing 22000 for 22 sales and two sulfite cases. Others named include Sam Sheaven Sol Taub Ieving Taub Morris Cohen L A Harris J J Lieberman Harry Silverman W A Wilborn William Siros and Guy Mazzola.
