Two men questioned after the Tuesday night armed robbery of the Handy Hut Grocery at 2801 Ave Q are set for polygraph examinations today. Dist. Atty Blair Cherry Jr said both men want to take the test after their attorney indicated they are anxious to undergo testing. The suspects were arrested nearby about 10 45 p m Tuesday and released pending further investigation. Police said a search of the suspects car found no weapon among more than 200 dollars reportedly stolen. Store attendant Cecil Kuhne described a gunman aided by a woman who demanded cash from two registers and a safe, then ordered him to lie on the floor.
Charles Arthur Harvey, 51, was charged with murder with malice in the death of 41 year old Catherine Gates. He was held on a 999000 dollar bond after authorities say Gates was beaten to death at her home following an argument the preceding night.
