Lost Stui Y Six Tourists Get Welcome To Lubbock
Six foreign students touring America under the Ambassadors for Friendship program were aided late Wednesday night in Lubbock when the car group lost its way to Clovis Road. A local family, the Hancocks, invited them for ice cream and offered their home for future visits, reflecting decades of ambassador work. The students, from the Philippines, Thailand, India, and Japan, plus two U.S. coordinators, were heading to Taiban for a three day stay. The Hancocks recalled hosting many international visitors and hoped to host again, while the group planned to visit Lubbock on a future tour. Israel and Japan also announced plans to raise their legations to embassy status in Jerusalem.
