Committees Shuffled By Speaker In Texas Legislature

Speaker Gus Mutscher reshuffles committees as 42 of 45 chairs change and a conflict of interest ethics bill is introduced by Sen. Charles Wilson. Snow Buries House In Redcliffe Avalanche Misses Family

Afraid to wake his family, Afra cio Medina slept through an avalanche that covered his Redcliffe home with ten feet of snow. Town marshal Nelson Cordova reported that three other houses were buried to roof level and a street was blocked. None of the 16 occupants were injured as Medina and volunteer firefighters shoveled snow all day, while continued heavy snowfall swelled the drifts in the central Colorado Rockies town of about 600 residents at 8 000 feet.

Suspect Nabbed In Ax Deaths

In Buffalo Narrows Saskatchewan seven people four of them children were killed with an axe in a Cree community. Victims include Thomas Pedersen 32 his wife Thernadette 30 and their children Grace 9 Robert 6 Richard 5 and Rhoda 3. Jean Baptiste Herman a guest died later at hospital.
