Blaze at Buffalo Lakes kills city carpenter
George Elvin Goodgson a 45 year old Lubbock man died in a house fire near Buffalo Springs Lake Wednesday night after park officer Chris Christesson failed to pull him from the burning two room structure. Christesson entered the living room and grabbed at the victim but the shirt tore and both fire and smoke drove him back from the doorway. The alarm came around 8 30 p m when a neighbor reported smoke from the west side of the house. He kicked in the door and saw Goodgion in a chair near the doorway mumbling before the fatal flames overtook the room.
