Missing stones and cash stolen from South Lubbock high rise
A theft at a South Lubbock apartment reported over $10,000 in unmounted stones, $5,000 in cash and stock certificates missing from a locked master bedroom metal box. The 1617 27th Street occupant, Joe Earnest Baldwin, said the theft occurred between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturday and checks valued at about $300 were also gone. Police fingerprinting followed. In a separate case, a 26-year-old mother from Abernathy was arrested after an auto accident. two children were placed with child welfare workers.

Drought Evacuations and Flood Rescue Dominated California News
San Bernardino area reported widespread flood damage while Foothill residents fled rising waters near Ontario.
