Judge Carrillo Impeached and Barred from Office

Texas Senate convicts South Texas District Judge O P Carrillo on one article of impeachment and bans him from holding public office again. Vote 23 to 5 for conviction and 22 to 5 to bar future elective office. Jury acquits on a second article regarding welfare funds but eight remaining articles were dropped. See SENATE Page 14.

Districting In County Approved

Bank Robber James Clement Charged in Odessa Gunpoint Heist

James Richard Clement, 17, of Odessa was charged Friday with the January 16 Texas Bank robbery and placed under a $50,000 bond by Justice of the Peace Charles E. Smith. A parallel charge was filed Thursday in Midland for the December 16 Western State Bank holdup.

Suspect Charged in Midland Bank Robbery and Car Theft Case

The suspect faced charges in Midland on a Texas Bank robbery tied to a car theft, with $7,000 seized from the Midland bank. Rogers is a 1963 ENMU graduate with a degree in economics and says he aims to help make proper decisions as a Christian citizen.
