Accidental gunfire kills 45 year old city woman
An apparent accidental shooting at a residence north of Lubbock on Farm 1264 left Beaulah Byve Shedd, 45, dead after the incident at about 5 45 p m. Her son Charles Dewett Shedd Jr with a newly purchased caliber pistol was present as she and family sat at a dining table. She was dead on arrival at West Texas Hospital. Justice of the Peace Wayne LeCroy ruled the death an accidental gunshot wound. The bullet entered behind the head as she spoke on the phone and the son reportedly did not reset the weapon.
