Levelland High School Bid Tops Three Million
H C Lewis of Lubbock submitted the low bid 3 296 000 for a new 950 student high school in Levelland. The high bid 3 530 000 came from Area Builders Inc of Odessa. The board will award at 7 20 p m Thursday. Bids were opened for four media centers at four Levelland ISD elementary schools and renovations. Page and Wirtz Construction Co. had the low bid 831 800 for the media centers. Plans call for reusing the existing high school for eighth and ninth grades and the junior high for sixth and seventh grades. The district will close the kindergarten and distribute students among four elementaries. The bond carries a 36 cent tax hike for a 6 25 million package.
