Car Crash Kills Woman, Seriously Injures Husband Near Tulsa
Mrs. Mattie Stella Rogers, 6, of 2105 Main, died on arrival at Plainview Sanitarium after a head on collision five miles south of Tulsa at 11 25 am. Her husband W T Rogers, 62, was seriously injured with broken ribs a broken leg and other injuries. Two occupants of the other car a 1942 Cadillac a man Harold Long 33 of Lubbock and a woman Harris of Fort Worth were hospitalized with injuries. Long was held for investigation. The crash occurred on a snow slick highway. The Rogers car a 1939 Nash, was damaged along with the other vehicle. The body of Mr Rogers was taken to Lemons Funeral Home Plainview.

SLATON Jan 18 A Trammell Butane truck driven by C E Shifflett of Sweetwater exploded after colliding with a Santa Fe train at the U S 84 crossing just outside the city. Shifflett escaped with minor burns and was treated at Mercy hospital. The train suffered minor damage and could move after repairs.
