Country Schoolmarm Rides Snowmobile To Reach Four Students

Great Falls Montana Miss Pansy Schroeder a 58 year old county schoolteacher rode a motorized sled through 12 miles of eight foot snowdrifts to reach her Calvert School and teach her four students. She plans to stay for the rest of the winter as heavy snow conditions and 60 mph winds persist. The one room school and home were cut off while the four children two boys and two girls were isolated at home during the holiday break plus had to cross snowy terrain to attend classes with horse and snowmobile transportation as needed.
