Truck Kills Deaf Mute Near Midland on Highway 80
A 38 year old Odessa deaf mute, Joseph William Callaway, was struck and killed by a semi trailer on U S Highway 80 thirteen miles west of Midland. His wife and a passenger, both deaf mutes, and three children witnessed the accident. Callaway stopped after his car lights failed. a truck mirror struck him, followed by the trailer. Funeral arrangements are pending.
