Solon Agrees To New Plan In Senate Battle

Dairy cooperative head and three executives charged in butter price manipulation

The government filed criminal information against Henry Hen and three Dairy prne Cooperative Association executives for manipulating butter prices on the New York Mercantile Exchange for five days last month. The defendants face charges under the Commodity Exchange Act as alleged manipulation of futures contracts. Soviets Seek Return Of Fugitive Citizen

The Soviet Union asked the United States to extradite Kirill Alekseev, a former Mexico trade mission staffer who stayed in the U S and criticized dictatorship. Death of Lang Sinclair noted in Texas University lore

Disappearance of Two Men Probed in Lubbock

South Plains residents J. F. Bumpass age 53 of 2402 Avenue U and W. C. Ryan age 50 of Post Route 1 are reported missing to Lubbock police. Ryan was last seen on a bus and Bumpass was last seen December 31. Police also investigate thefts including a tire and wheel from a car on East Eighteenth and a purse stolen from Marie Hammonds of East Avenue L on a city bus. A black man is detained in connection with one theft.

Suspect Held After Carver Heights Shooting in Lubbock

Police investigated a shooting in the Carver Heights area of Lubbock around 11:30 p m Saturday. Earnest McNeal was treated at Chatman Hospital for a bullet wound near the heart. A suspect appeared at the sheriff's office and was jailed for questioning as patrolmen continued the inquiry. The incident occurred in the 2100 block of East Avenue B.
