Texans Rescued After 24 Hour Ski Area Search Near Ruidoso

Six Texas skiers including two Texas Tech students were found safe in Sierra Blanca near Ruidoso New Mexico after a 24 hour search. The group was located in three clusters about two hours apart by a ski patrol and horse patrol teams. Dr T A Noyes and his son Terry, Donal Juett, Phillip Dettle, Tim Noyes, and Randy Jaster were all accounted for with frostbite and a knee injury reported for Jaster.

Miss A E Murfee a longtime Lubbock educator and civic leader died at 6 p m Friday in Methodist Hospital after a stroke. Funeral set for Monday at First Methodist with burial in Lubbock City Cemetery.
