In Saigon’s outskirts a 28 year old Vietnamese man Tranh was killed by a burst of MIG fire as marines questioned him over alleged VC duties. The incident plus daily casualties underscores the brutal urban fighting surrounding the city.
Thousands of Florida students began an unscheduled vacation as more than half the state's teachers resigned seeking higher pay and more funding. Some districts planned to operate with substitutes, while others, including Dade County, advised parents to keep children home. Governor Claude Kirk urged teachers not to desert their students.

Police said six rifles three shotguns and two pistols were stolen from Hershel Carrico 2502 63rd St. along with ammunition radios a TV projector and other goods. The incident followed weekend shelling in Saigon and other cities causing light damage and several casualties.
In Panmunjom the UNC and North Korea opened talks to address alleged violations of the armistice. North Korean officials accused UNC troops of attacking north of the DMZ, while a previous open meeting displayed purported confessions from Pueblo crew members.

The case was pried open and items include a $36000 emerald ring a $30000 emerald earrings and an $8000 emerald pin. Bowdle is kin to J A Bell well a Texas oilman and cattleman.
