Doolittle joins Lindbergh Memorial Fund as cochairman

Gen James Doolittle said he accepted the cochairmanship of the Charles A Lindbergh Memorial Fund to support aeronautic research conservation exploration and wildlife preservation. He recalled meeting Lindbergh in the late 1920s when Lindbergh flew mail between St Louis and Chicago. The fund started two weeks ago has about 500000 in cash and pledges toward a 5 million goal for scholarships and grants.

Young Kennedy Fined $20 For Traffic Violations

David Kennedy son of the late Senator Robert Kennedy pleaded guilty in Cambridge District Court to failing to stop at a stop sign and driving without a license. The Harvard student received $10 fines on both charges and was cleared of unregistered and uninsured vehicle counts after evidence showed Virginia registration and insurance.

Bank Allows Robber's Deposits To Offset Past Heist

Miami AP report says Willis Warren, who robbed a Homestead bank for 4515 dollars, had saved 1005 in an account opened before the crime. A Circuit Court judge ruled the First National Bank may use his savings to offset the loss, though withdrawals are barred due to a bank flag.

Freighter Explosion in Beaumont Kills One Injures Two

An explosion aboard the 10,640 ton Export Ambassador rocked Beaumont harbor near the engine room during spray painting. Alvin Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida, died. two crew members were seriously injured. The ship was to sail to Newport News, Virginia after the blast heard eight blocks away.

Solon Seeks Revision Of Land Tax Bill In Texas Senate
