Andrews Man Dies in Two Car Crash Near Del Rio

An Andrews man John Fuchs 32 and two others Benn L Rogers 17 of Big Lake and Lois William Kandy 42 of Andrews were killed in a two car head on crash on U S Highway 90 northwest of Del Rio in clear weather. Five others were injured including Pattie Jo Johnson 19 and Harold Watkins 16 both of Big Lake and E L Cooney 34 and Donald Johnson both of Andrews and Beulah B Rogers 42 of Big Lake. Fuchs funeral set for 4 p m at Trinity Baptist Church with burial at Forest Park Cemetery in Houston Wednesday. Fuchs had lived in Andrews 34 years and served in the Air Force. Youth Dies In Shooting On Fourth Street

A Latin American youth, Gilbert C. Botello aged 19 of 318 N Ave N, was killed by a revolver duel with another man at 4th St and Ave G. He died at West Texas Hospital at 2 am Sunday. Jesse Garcia DeLuna, 22, 106 C Ave T, was arrested three hours later and jailed on murder charges after admitting the slaying to Asst. Dist. Atty. Bill Sparks. DeLuna claims self defense and has three years probation for a March 1957 burglary.
