City traffic mishaps injure eight in city
Eight persons were hurt in Wednesday traffic incidents including 65 year old Zollie Waldrop who was seriously injured after being struck near Broadway and Avenue G. A 24 year old Blas Chavez Jr. died in the morning crash at Tohoka traffic circle, the first city fatality of the year. Police sought an Oldsmobile 1954 blue possibly convertible. Waldrop, taken to Methodist Hospital, was crossing Avenue G near Broadway when hit. Seven year old Richard Dunmire and sister Vickie Ellen Dunmire were hurt when a car struck their bicycle near 26th Street and Avenue V. Evelyn Love Stovall, on Texas Tech campus, drove the bike causing injuries. Virginia Ramos was also treated after a separate incident.
