Texas Senate OKs school fund bills for aid surge

The Texas Senate approved emergency appropriations totaling about 98 million for public schools and junior colleges to ease inflation driven costs. Public schools would receive 80 million, junior colleges 18 million, with per student aid up to 39.74 dollars depending on district wealth. Briscoe urged immediate aid to prevent class closures.
