In Houston a suspect in a police lineup admits hitting his mother-in-law. The room erupts with cheers and calls for his release as the embarrassed man stands tall and is met with a standing ovation from onlookers.
President Nixon plans a working trip to Western Europe possibly by late March with stops in Holland France Belgium Britain and Germany and perhaps West Berlin. No firm dates or itinerary yet and no extension to the Soviet Union is planned. The trip would precede the NATO foreign ministers meeting set for April 10-12.
An 18 year old man and his 18 year old girlfriend were arrested after a knife threat halted National Flight 11 from New York and a second Eastern Airlines jet later diverted to Cuba.
