LOADING FUEL Blast Injures Ten On Barge
Ten men were injured when a series of explosions hit a self propelled barge loading gasoline at the American oil terminal in South Portland Maine. Firefighters battled a small engine room fire as the Coast Guard towed the flaming vessel to an anchorage to prevent spread. Seven of the injured were hospitalized and none were seriously hurt. The barge was loading gasoline from the tanker Amoco Louisiana.
