UN condemns Israel for Beirut airport raid at Security Council

The United States and the Soviet Union condemned Israel at the United Nations Security Council over the Beirut International Airport commando raid. Operations Continue As Normal In Vietnam War

Allied forces pressed the offensive across Vietnam ignoring a 72 hour cease fire proclaimed by the Viet Cong. Washington awaited a US response to a Viet Cong battlefield meeting proposal while 16 battalion size US operations and 44 South Vietnamese operations were under way. In An Hoa the fiercest fighting persisted for a fifth day as North Vietnamese units faced South Vietnamese and US Marines. Bombers hit suspected enemy camps near An Hoa and Da Nang, with 70 enemy killed in two battles and seven government Rangers killed or wounded. An explosion damaged a power plant near the US Ambassador Bunker residence in Saigon, causing no casualties.
