Katy Abandons Texas Branch Move Begs ICC Approval
The Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad seeks permission from the Interstate Commerce Commission to abandon 220 miles of branch line trackage between Bell Mead and Stamford Texas. The line has run at a deficit and would require heavy spending to rehabilitate, though it has been leased since 1914 from the Texas Central Railroad Co.
