The group robbed a motel near the area before their capture.

Fires Kill 11 In Hospital and Meriden Tenement

Eleven people died in two separate fires Sunday. In Minneapolis, a 44yearold hospital suffered a blaze sparked by short circuited Christmas tree lights killing six patients. In Meriden Connecticut a five story wooden tenement fire claimed five lives. Firefighters carried more than 40 patients to safety.

Fatal Blaze at Doctors Memorial Hospital Claims Multiple Lives

Fire at the five story Doctors Memorial Hospital killed several patients and injured many others. Victims include Mrs Ella Mullins and Mrs Mary Ballett among Minneapolis residents. One baby died later at Minneapolis General Hospital from a congenital heart condition while others suffered smoke inhalation. The fire destroyed the lobby and burned a zig zag staircase, with hospital administrator Alfred G. Stasel estimating losses around 100000 dollars. One patient, Mrs Alfreida Hilton, was severely burned and in critical condition.

Missing Floyd Farmer Sought

Floydada authorities investigated the disappearance of John C. Moss a well known Floydada farmer missing since Thursday. He was last seen at a service station after noon Thursday cashing a $20 check and filling his gas tank. Mrs Moss reported the disappearance after returning from Lubbock Friday morning. A close friend said it would be unusual for Moss to travel out of town without calling.

Morton Negro Jailed After Case Shooting

A Morton Negro was charged with attempted murder after a shooting and stabbing at a Negro restaurant. John Holland 44 of Morton was stabbed and charged with attempted murder in the case. T J Jones of Level land was shot and Sarah Jones faces aggravated assault charges. Jones is in serious condition at Cochran County Hospital.

Four prisoners flee Bernalillo jail in Albuquerque
