Sampson Christie a 70 year old West Texas rancher from Barksdale recounted a lifetime of trapping for furs in Glasscock Midland and Martin counties for Texas Tech archivist David Gracy and his daughter Mrs George Young. His sister Mrs J Austin Boler was the first person born in Glasscock County after its organization in 1894.
