Task Force Hopes to End Hog Cholera Spread
A state federal task force seeks to halt hog cholera as a quarantine goes into effect in 15 South Texas counties. More than 600 hogs in six counties must be culled after a Nov 27 sale at Valley Livestock Auction Merced es. The affected counties include Aransas Bee Calhoun Cameron DeWitt Goliad Gonzales Hidalgo Jackson Karnes Lavaca Refugio Victoria Willacy Wilson.

Auto crash injures woman on Slide Road near 50th Street
Dorothy Janice Harrison of 4902 15th St was hurt in a rear end collision on Slide Road just north of 50th Street at 12 10 p m Saturday. Beda Grant 37 of 4806 39th St was uninjured. Both cars were southbound. Methodist Hospital reported Harrison in fair condition.

Audubon Society Tracks 67 Species in Christmas Count
