Balloon breaks loose at game in snow near stadium

A 25 foot hot air balloon broke its mooring during a snowstorm at a football halftime show in Minneapolis carrying a one year old boy three miles before landing in the Minnesota River. Rick Snyder of St. Paul was rescued by a passing motorist and returned to the stadium to finish the game between Minnesota and San Francisco. The balloon rose when his mother stepped out, was kept aloft by a torch, and narrowly missed light towers as it drifted away.

Man in Atlanta arrested after snake in shirt incident

Gregory Bernard faced fines of 131 dollars and jail after a complaint of a man with a snake in his shirt led to his detainment beside a musical museum site in downtown Atlanta. Trio Hart Train Track Leap Fatal

Three Cub Scouts were hospitalized after leaping from an 8 long railroad trestle in Livermore California to avoid a train. Their leader Scoutmaster Robert Morris 34 and six scouts were hiking on a block long trestle when the train appeared. Morris and the three injured boys jumped about 35 feet to Alameda Creek below while six scouts escaped by climbing onto the girders.

Three Spaniards die climbing Ubina peak in Spain

Police report three climbers were killed Sunday on the 7.87 foot Pena de Ubina in the Huerna Valley near Mieres. Rescue teams had not found the victims due to deep snow, authorities said.
