Pressure Eases as Daniel Won't Call Special Session

Navy Sub Chief Rickover to Speak at Texas Tech Convocation

Vice Admiral Hyman G. Rickover arrives in Lubbock for a public convocation at Municipal Auditorium on the Texas Tech campus at 10 a.m. He will be introduced by Congressman George Mahon and speaks on the topic Remaining Costs too Much. The event is sponsored by the Texas Tech Student Association and open to the public, with Tech students and faculty in attendance. Four-Car Crash Near Woodrow Injures Four

Everett Grosecose reports a four car smash about 10 miles south of Lubbock leaving four injured. James Cardwell Thweatt, 45, in critical condition at Methodist Hospital after surgery, and Anastacio Ruiz, 64, of San Antonio, in fair condition.
