Tech Carol Of Lights Draws Thousands At 7 P.M.

Tech prepares for the annual Carol of Lights pageant at 7 p.m. in the Science Quadrangle with more than 24 000 lights across 11 campus buildings. An expected crowd of over 6 000 will attend the event before a Blood Sweat and Tears concert in University Center.

Gold Prices Soar as Dollar Falls in European Markets

In London on Monday the dollar dropped to record lows on most foreign exchanges amid ongoing monetary uncertainty. Gold bullion surged with speculation of a dollar revaluation and hit a London high of 43 975 dollars per ounce, 3.5 cents above Aug last year. Zurich closed higher at 44 dollars per ounce, with a peak reached on Aug 9 prior to President Nixon's economic plan. In Paris the dollar also traded at new lows despite government exchange controls.
