Bond prices rose on Thursday as traders grew confident the federal government would curb volatility. Across 39 U.S. Treasury issues, 35 moved higher, four unchanged. In the stock market bond trading totaled par value 8.63 million with 140 advances, 76 declines, and 70 unchanged among 286 issues.
