Area Man Is Crash Victim
Petersburg resident William R. iMoffett 58 was killed when his car hit the rear of a cotton trailer on Road 54 near Petersburg 7:50 p m Thursday. The trailer detached from a pickup driven by Nolan J. Fred and spilled cotton, blocking part of the highway. Tom Eliott of Petersburg had minor injuries as his car plowed through the cotton. Henderson Ambulance Service took the body to Lemfons Funeral Home. Moffett was sales manager at Schuler Implement Co. This fatality is the 119th in the area this year, with 20 deaths in November.
