Lubbock Council Advances Landfill Plan and Zoning Fixes
The council discussed negotiating with West Texas Compress for a pro rata refund of pre paid rents on airport warehouses damaged by tornadoes 1969 and 1970. Four zoning changes were approved including low cost housing on Erskine South and industrial switches along Storm Town and Globe Hickory avenues. They also moved to seek bids for park sites, debated park purchases, and considered funding for a regional anti drug program alongside YWCA efforts.
