An Associated Press survey across 12 cities shows 22 percent of items rose in price from July 31 to August 13 with eggs and pork climbing after controls were lifted. Another 8 percent fell, 57 percent unchanged, and 13 percent unavailable. earlier July 25 to July 31 survey found 17 percent up.
Vice President Spiro T. Agnew said he would make his personal financial records available to federal prosecutors and offered to submit to a personal interview to answer questions about kickback allegations. In a letter to U.S. Attorney George Beall in Baltimore he stated the requested records have been assembled and are at his offices.
President Nixon will deliver a live televised address from the Oval Office at 8 p.m. Wednesday about the Watergate scandal, lasting 20 to 30 minutes, with a more detailed written statement to follow. The speech will be carried by all networks as public investigations continue.
Thomas G. Boles, the man who nurtured Carlsbad Caverns National Monument into a world renowned site, died at 92 in Landsun Home.
