Gasoline Rationing Seen If Transport Problems Persist
Houston Aug 14 A veteran oilman warns gasoline rationing could become a fact nationwide by 1950 or 1951 if Middle East transport problems are not solved. B E Hull vice president of Trans Arabia Pipe Line Co says the U S is now a net oil importer and that Middle East reserves could be enough to meet world needs. He urges pipelines to market oil and notes record weekly crude production of about 5.5 million barrels while gasoline stocks decline. Offshore drilling, hearings on well allowables, and a major Texas to Ohio gas pipeline are also reported.
