Four Cochran County Officials Indicted for Misuse of Funds

A Cochran County grand jury indicted four former officials for misapplication of county funds. Earl Cadenhead, Odell Smith, T W Pierce, and C G Shaw face multiple counts totaling about 2,041.59 dollars. The jury noted the audit is not complete and requested more time to continue the investigation.

Freight Train Wreck Delays Lubbock Line Near Tulia

A 22 car Santa Fe freight derailed near Tulia delaying the Lubbock bound line. The incident halted the Lubbock Streamliner and forced 27 passengers to transfers by Tulia buses. Wrecked cars spilled grain and sorghum, with no injuries reported and traffic rerouted via Farwell Texico.

Bus Plunge Kills At Least Five In Swiss Accident

In Bourg St Pierre Switzerland a bus carrying French vacationers plunged into a river near St Bernard Monastery. Five people were killed and the driver plus at least 24 passengers were casualties. Four women and three men were hospitalized with serious injuries, two not expected to survive.

Benson proposes new cotton disposal program

Senator Wagonseller Killed in Fort Worth Pileup
