West Germany to Sign Ban on Nuclear Test Pact

West Germany will sign the partial nuclear test ban treaty after a meeting with U S Secretary of State Dean Rusk. Adenauer expressed satisfaction with U S guarantees and raised no worry that Moscow talks would bolster East Germany. Rusk, returning from Moscow, will report to President Kennedy and brief White House aides Monday.

Heavy April Downpours Boost Motley Region Cotton Outlook

Rainfall across Motley Dickens County and surrounding areas brought up to 1.72 inches in spots helping parched cotton and rangeland ahead of the harvest. Matador recorded 0.50 inches. Whiteflat area saw 1.00 to 1.72 inches. Lubbock area saw scattered showers with 0.01 inches at the airport and forecasters predicting more thundershowers. County Commissioners to discuss salary increases

Lubbock county commissioners plan a 10 a.m. meeting to discuss a possible salary hike for county officials though no specific amount has been set. Observers say 1000 dollars a year is the most mentioned figure as other salaries range from about 8910 to 17000 annually.

Jackie Doing Well Kennedy Infant Buried In Quiet Rites

Patrick Bouvier Kennedy, third child of the President, was buried in a quiet service less than 30 minutes after a premature birth. The funeral at Holyhood Cemetery in Brookline was simple and private with the Kennedy family and close aides present. The President flew to Otis Air Force Base afterward to be with Jacqueline Kennedy in the hospital.

Moon Flight Planned by 1968 Says Houston Chronicle

The Houston Chronicle reports plans from Nasa that aim to land two men on the moon in 1968, with a full moon base by 1972 or 1973. The UPI story profiles former United Air Lines pilot Bill Grim of Acme Ohio who, from a 1958 health scare, devolved to a bedridden state from lateral sclerosis. Smyer Girl Dies In Tractor Accident

A 23 month old Smyer girl Delinda Hernandez died after being run over by a tractor driven by her father Frank Hernandez. The accident occurred about 6 15 p m as the child appeared to meet him near the house. Justice of the Peace F R Land cited the father briefly looked back and the child darted into the path. Services are pending at Franklin Bartley Funeral Home.

Estes Family Flees After Gunshot at Billie Sol Estes Home

A gunshot damaged the Estes residence near Pecos Texas injuring no one as the family fled Saturday. A 15 year old Pamela Estes described the fear and the incident marked the third in a week around the home of the convicted swindler Billie Sol Estes. House guest Glenn Stephens said Estes and family left Pecos Saturday afternoon and would not disclose their destination. The bullet pierced one pane of a double glazed window and dropped between panes as a bystander near the window moved.
