The Italian Senate approved the minority Christian Democrat government of Premier Giulio Andreotti 136 to 17 with abstentions from the Communists and most major parties after a bomb threat halted deliberations. Final Deputies approval expected Monday.

He previously lost to Elmer Tarbox in 1974 and notes no replacement comment from Stevens.
