Black Eyed Pea Jamboree Winners Highlight Athens Event
In Athens Texas the second annual Black Eyed Pea Jamboree concluded Saturday with cook-off prizes awarded to Arlington Garland Murchison and Houston teams, though Athens locals dominated. Notables like former Senator Ralph Yarborough and candidate Dolph Briscoe attended events at Henderson Junior College and Athens Country Club, as festivities continued with gospel singing and late-night revelry.
