Fire in crowded Minneapolis rooming house kills one
A predawn blaze in a two to three story Minneapolis rooming house killed one woman and left 11 people missing or injured. Fire Chief Kenneth Hall said doors left open or propped may have fed the flames while stairs proved useless. Damages pegged at 100000 to 150000 dollars amid a cluttered, wood paneled interior built before 1885 with several upper rooms and ground floor shops.
