Jewelry Holdup Suspects Charged After Home Loot Recovered

Two Black men charged with robbery after a raid recovered loot found in a home. Spokespersons said two suspects dressed in wigs and female outfits robbed three people at the House of Alexander on Broadway Street, binding them and fleeing with jewelry.

Tornado Watches Sweep Texas as Storms Thread North

Storms tore across Texas with tornado and severe thunderstorm watches stretching from the South Plains to the Panhandle. A twister damaged a Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Waxahachie, injuring six. another tornado hit a trailer park in Riannis with minor injuries and extensive damage. Kentucky and surrounding states suffered deaths and injuries as twisters traveled Tuesday night.

First Held Teenage Girl Suspect In Capitol Blast

A teenage girl identified as Miss Bacon was arrested in connection with the Capitol bombing case. Lubbock Council seeks HUD funds for Canyon Lakes project

The Lubbock City Council approved a $1,046,000 HUD open spaces grant application to back land acquisitions for the Canyon Lakes seven mile recreation complex. 82 Foster Children Echo Through Garner Home in California

Roy and Pauline Garner of Santa Cruz say 82 children have passed through their home over the years. They adopted Sandra, 22 months, as their fifth child this week, joining Rebecca Ann 12 Robin Lynn 11 Christy 4 and Richard 3. Their own daughter Jan is 27 and married. The others were foster children cared for during varying periods. The Garners plan to stop but Mrs. Garner hints it may not be final.
